Total worldwide shipments for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate have topped four million (download cards and Nintendo eShop download sales included), Capcom announced.

Total sales for the series are more than 33 million units as of September 30, 2015.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is a followup to Monster Hunter 4. It first launched for 3DS in Japan in October 2014, and followed in North America and Europe in February 2015.

The next entry in the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter X, is due out on November 28 in Japan. An RPG and anime called Monster Hunter Stories will follow in 2016.
