Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS Force

Following up on our report last week, the latest batch of Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS Force screenshots introduce the game’s Force System, Extreme Force Mode, and latest confirmed playable Gundam.

Get the details below.

Force System

The Force System is a new system that lets you provide instruction to your platoons and battleships as a commanding officer during unit battles.

You can switch to Command Mode at any time by pressing the L button. You can select the CPU units you want to move on the left side of the screen and designate a new destination using the cursor. From there, they’ll automatically begin moving to the specified location.

By doing things like defeating enemies and gaining control of bases, you’ll accumulate “Force Points.” When you obtain a certain amount of Force Points, your Force Level will raise.

You can access the Force Command menu in Command Mode by pressing the triangle button.  Using these commands will consume Force Points, but can provide support effects to all of your ally units. When your Force Level increases, so does the amount of commands available to you.

Extreme Force Mode

This mode starts with an original mission, then continues onto a variety of missions where players can enjoy Universal Century episodes consisting of various situations from Mobile Suit Gundam up until Mobile Suit Gundam UC. You’ll acquire new Mobile Suits and develop your pilot while completing missions, and organize and operate your own unit while aiming for domination.

Your Mobile Suit formation consists of two Mobile Suits per platoon. Each Mobile Suit has a “cost.” Your limit will gradually increase to a maximum extension of 6,000. In Extreme VS Force, there are consort plane-exclusive Mobile Suits, as well as new, 500-Cost machines.

You’ll earn GP by clearing missions, which you can use to strengthen your unit. GP is mainly used to recover your units’ durability after missions, as well as for new Mobile Suit acquisition missions. There are also other uses for GP.

Latest Gundam

The latest Gundam and pilots confirmed to appear include:

  • Gundam AGE-1 and pilot Flit Asuno (Mobile Suit Gundam AGE) – Cost: 2,000
  • Full Armor Unicorn Gundam and pilot Banagher Links (Mobile Suit Gundam UC) – Cost: 3,000
  • Banshee Norn and pilot Riddhe Marcenas (Mobile Suit Gundam UC) – Cost: 3,000

Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS Force will launch for PS Vita on December 23 in Japan, and in English in Asia this winter.
