Mario Kart 8

Nintendo has announced the latest set of downloadable content and a new update coming to Mario Kart 8.

The new update, which will be released free on April 23, will ad a 200cc racing class to the game. Even faster than 150cc, the new high-speed class will work on all tracks in the game and places emphasis on braking.

Next up, “DLC Pack 2” will be released on April 23 and add the following for $7.99:

  • Three new characters – Village (Boy or Girl), Isabelle, and Dry Bowser.
  • Four new vehicles – Streetle, City Tripper, and two unannounced vehicles.
  • Eight new courses in the Crossing Cup and Bell Cup – One new track, based on Animal Crossing, changes between spring, summer, fall, and winter.

Additionally, more Mii racing suits are coming to the game. Nine new Amiibo are being made compatible (Mega Man, Pac-Man, Sonic, Toad, Wario, Villager, Rosalina, Bowser, and Olimar), which add the new costumes.
