New Fire Emblem announced for 3DS

Or Fire Emblem If, as it's called in Japan.

Fire Emblem If

Nintendo announced a new turn-based strategy Fire Emblem game for 3DS during its Nintendo Direct broadcast this morning.

The Fire Emblem series has always asked players to make a number of small choices that affect the game world, from conversation choices to battle tactics. In this new game, you will make even bigger choices and the effects of these choices on the world “will be greater than ever.” The game promises brand new challenges, “the likes of which have never been seen in the series up until now.”

The game is in development at Intelligent Systems, with character design by Kozaki Yusuke and story by Shin Kibayashi. While the game is still to be titled or dated in North America and Europe, in Japan it is called Fire Emblem If and is due out this summer.
