Sunset Overdrive ‘Mooil Rig’ DLC announced

Help Brylcreem investigate an oil rig surrounded by water.

Sunset Overdrive 'Mooil Rig'

The first story-based add-on for Sunset Overdrive will launch on December 23, Insomniac Games announced.

The add-on brings players to ‘Mooil Rig,’ a “floating playground” just off the shores of Sunset City. When a distress signal cries out from the rig, Brylcreem needs your help investigating. But it puts you in the middle of a violent turf war between disgruntled and well-armed workers, and with aquatic mutants on the rampage, no less.

Mooil Rig will feature additional missions, quests, challenges, weapons, traps, amps, and Chaos Squad objects, as well as a new community challenge. Being that it’s set in an area completely surrounded by water, it also adds two new travel methods:

  • Water Dive – Allows you to dive underwater for a short time before jumping out.
  • Water Slam Bounce – Allows you to agility smash into the water and then shoot high up into the air.

These traversal methods transfer over to the full game, as well.
