Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will launch for Wii U in Europe on January 9, Nintendo announced.
The game was previously dated for a December 4 release in North America.
Additionally, Nintendo introduced Toadette as a second playable character alongside Toad.
Neither Toad or Toadette have any special powers. They can’t even jump. However, with their headlights and positive attitude, they’ll make their way through enemy-infested areas, solving puzzles and unearthing secrets in search of the Power Star.
At the beginning of the game, Wingo, a giant and greedy bird, makes off with their only Power Star, whisking away Toadette in the process. Throughout 70 stages, players must help Captain Toad retrieve both the Power Star and Toadette, unlocking her as a playable character, and ultimately defeat Wingo.
