Freedom Wars story introduction video

New trailer introduces Beatrice and Abel.

Freedom Wars

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has published a new trailer for Freedom Wars, its upcoming PS Vita game developed in collaboration with Shift and Dimps.

Freedom Wars is set in the near future, where the world is unlivable outside of cities known as “Panopticon.” But due to a severe lack of resources and an undesirable living environment, these cities start to conflict with each other. In order to effectively rule these people, every citizen is born into a one million year sentence.

In the story trailer below, you’ll meet characters like Natalia “9″ Woo, Uwe “Sakamoto” Cabrera, and Mattias “Leo” Bruno. All three were previously detailed here. Two new characters are also introduced:

  • Beatrice “Lily” Anastasi (voiced by Eriko Nakamura) – A mysterious woman captured in the depths of Panopticon. After being rescued by the protagonist, the pair act together as criminals.
  • Abel “Strafe” Barth (voiced by Junichi Suwabe) – The Horai Party rivals the protagonist’s party and Abel is their ace. He calls himself one of the strongest criminals in the world—a criminal with dangerous ideology.
