New Final Fantasy announced for PlayStation 4

"Please be excited for E3 this year," teases Square.

Square Enix has announced the development of a new Final Fantasy title for PlayStation 4 at PlayStation Meeting 2013 in New York City. Final Fantasy brand director Shinji Hashimoto said to “please be excited for E3 this year,” where we’ll hear more about the project.

“Today, I have just one thing to say,” said Hashimoto on stage. “On the occasion of this presentation by Yoshihisa of the Luminous engine [read below] and the announcement of PlayStation 4 from Sony Computer Entertainment, I would also like to announce that we are preparing for development of a Final Fantasy title. Please be excited for E3 this year.”

Additionally, the publisher showed off a real-time demo of the Agni’s Philosophy tech demo running on Sony’s new console.
