Tales of Xillia opens differently for each character
Depending on which character you choose to play as in Tales of Xillia, the game will open differently.
Speaking at an outdoor Tales talk event in Japan, producer Hideo Baba said that the opening scenes are different for Jude and Milla to give players the perspectives of both lead characters. It will not impact the overall story.
Baba told the audience that he would choose to start with Milla. He has no special reason for this — it’s merely his preference.
Baba shed light on Xillia‘s title, during the event. The name was born from the English words “million” and “billion.” He took the “illion” and added an “X” to get “Xillion.” Eventually, it turned into Xillia. The significance of the name lies within its ‘huge number’ aspect, and that within life a person will encounter many different events and people.
Tales of Xillia launches in Japan this year for PlayStation 3. A western release has not been announced.
