Square Enix announces Gun Loco for Xbox 360

Square Enix is showing the Xbox 360 some love this morning with the announcement of Gun Loco, which they describe as an “exciting, all new approach” to the third-person shooter.

Gun Loco takes place in the far edge of the galaxy where an anarchical rule has factions fighting against each other in a race for survival and freedom. Players will gun through numerous maps, climate zones, and civilizations as they fight in the struggle to survive.

Players will take on the role of numerous “memorable” characters in a game that promises to “redifine the run-and-gun shooter.” Each character has their own signature kill attack, a powerful arsenal of ewapons, and more. Players can go online and play with up to twelve players in online multiplayer matches, as well.

The game features a unique visual style created by toy maker and kenneyswork founder, Kenney Wong. It’s out exclusively for Xbox 360 in 2011. Check out the first screenshots at the gallery.
