Next Front Mission Teased in Latest OXM for E3 Reveal
The latest issue of the Official Xbox Magazine teases a new “mystery” title in development at Square Enix, but the magazine, although not able to say the game’s official name, does make it pretty obvious what the game actually is. They say it’s from an existing IP that rhymes with “Brunt Fission”, involving mechs and a futuristic city. I think it’s safe to say the game is a new Front Mission. That little rhyme, plus the fact that Square Enix recently trademarked Front Mission Evolved, pretty much proves it.
There are even some screenshots in the article, showing a city map, and cities like Manhattan and even a shot of the Hudson River.
The magazine says that all will be revealed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in San Francisco in early June. Guess we’ll have to wait. Read on for the direct quote from the issue.
Square Enix Bringing New Mystery Title to Xbox 360.
Oh, surprises… we love surprises! All they’ll tell us is that this new game is based on one of their existing IPs, so a little research narrows the candidates considerably. Mechs? A futuristic city? Well at the risk of being taken out by the Sueenix lawyer ninjas, we’d have to guess that the mystery title rhymes with “Brunt Fission.” If this ends up being true, then can we expect more of the tactical brand of role- playing strategy that the mech series is well known for? Of do the creators have something different in mind for the shooting loving Xbox crowd?
Apparently, all will be revealed at E3 in June. Check back next issue and we’ll have all the answers.
