Crop is a gritty farming thriller where your safety depends on the yield. Bound to a dying farm, you must dig, plant, irrigate, and cut your way through the decay. Uncover buried secrets, both in the soil and quietly brewing within the village. The only way out is through the harvest.

Story and Setting

The player is thrown helplessly into a dreamlike place. They end up in a small village, that is completely isolated from the outside world by a terrible storm. The locals coerce you into running a farm to avoid starvation while waiting for help to arrive. Feeding the ever hungrier inhabitants is hard work, but in the process you get to know the place and the people there, while trying to figure out who brought you here and what is going on.

The player, unsure who to trust, is poking around, trying to figure out what’s happening and how to escape, leading to multiple unsettling revelations. This happens in their own tempo while running the farm, and as a consequence of engaging with the game loop. Before long, they are entangled in the locals conflicts. One villager tries bribing you into giving crops directly to them. Conflicts escalate, tummies are rumbling, and villagers seem increasingly agitated. And why on earth is no help arriving from the outside world?
