PS5 shipments top 97.9 million, Marvel’s Wolverine tops 2.4 million

PlayStation 5 has shipped 97.9 million units worldwide, Sony announced in its financial results for the three months ended September 30, 2026.

A total of 2.6 million PlayStation 5 units were shipped during the three months ended September 30, 2026, which is down 0.9 million from the same period the previous fiscal year.

Here are a couple of additional statistics:

• Marvel’s Wolverine has sold 2.4 million units as of November 4, 2026.
• There are 127 million monthly active users on PlayStation Network as of September 30, 2026, which is up eight million from the same period the previous fiscal year.
• PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 software combined sold 88.2 million units during the three months ended September 30, 2026, which is up 7.9 million from  the same period the previous fiscal year. 8.2 million units were first-party titles, which is up 1.9 million from the same period the previous fiscal year. 78 percent of software sales were full game software digital downloads, which is up six percent from the same period the previous fiscal year.
