This Week’s Japanese Game Releases: Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster, Pikmin 3 Deluxe, more

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster for PlayStation 4 and Switch, and Pikmin 3 Deluxe for Switch are among many highlights of this week’s Japanese video game releases.

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster is a remastered version of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Maniax Chronicle Edition with improved graphics and gameplay, voiced (optional) event scenes, “Normal and Hard” difficulties, and a “Merciful” difficulty as free downloadable content. With the 980 yen “Maniax Pack” downloadable content, you can play the game with Dante from the Devil May Cry series in place of Raidou Kuzunoha. Read up on more paid downloadable content here.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe is an enhanced version of the 2013-released Wii U title. In addition to the base game and all downloadable content, Pikmin 3 Deluxe adds local two-player cooperative play, new prologue and epilogue stories starring Pikmin and Pikmin 2 heroes Olimar and Louie, various quality of life improvements including lock-on targeting, enemy balancing changes, multiple difficulty modes, and optional hints, and a “Piklopedia” with profile entries for each character and creature you discover.

Other highlights this week include Kamen Rider: Memory of Heroez, Mad Rat Dead, Watch Dogs: Legion, Auto Chess for PlayStation 4, and Crimzon Clover: World EXplosion for Switch.
