Nintendo has released a new trailer and screenshots of Mario Kart 8, due out for Wii U on May 30 in North America and Europe.

The trailer confirms the return of the Rainbow Road 64 track, new items Boomerang, Piranha Plant, and Coins, and new characters Metal Mario, Lakitu, and Shy Guy.

Additionally, several outlets have gone up with new previews of the game. Have your pick: Destructoid, Eurogamer, GameSpot, Gamereactor UK, GamesRadar, GameXplain, IGN, or Nintendo Life.
