About
Tenshi no Uta: The Angel Verse Collection is a collection of two role-playing games in which players assume the roles of heroes on missions to save the world.
From a 3/4-overhead perspective, players explore fantastical worlds, interact with characters, and battle various creatures (e.g., demons, sirens, ghosts) in turn-based combat. Players select attacks and spells from a menu to target enemies and defeat them. Battles are highlighted by colorful light effects, impact sounds, and screen-shaking effects. Enemies are occasionally depicted with blood on their bodies and / or dripping from their mouths; one enemy is depicted headless, holding their head in their hands.
Cutscenes also depict instances of violence and / or blood / gore: a demon’s arm cut off, with a large blood-splatter effect; a human impaled by a demon, with blood splashes; a character shot. Some female creatures/humanoids are depicted partially nude, with partially exposed breasts and/or buttocks. During the course of the game, players’ character can purchase and consume alcohol; drunk characters also populate the world, with accompanying dialogue (e.g., “Yuuup, I’m druuuuunk! I was gonna show you some kind of trick, but I’m drunk, so maybe next time”; “Then blame these peaceful times! *Hic*”). Players can visit a casino and wager bets on hands of poker and spins of roulette. The word “bastard” appears in the game.
