Those who yearn for death, yet cannot bring themselves to it, arrive at an in-between world suspended between life and death: Hazamayo.

This is the story of Mitsu Mao, a girl clinging to life who gets lost in Hazamayo, and those she meets there who yearn for death.

The game consists of an adventure part, where you explore Hazamayo, and a real-time tactical part, where you strategically defeat the monsters blocking Mao’s path with her allies. This is a dramaturgical real-time tactical adventure.

Story

Hazamayo: A World Between Life and Death

Trapped between worlds, in a realm where those who long for death yet can’t find it, lies Hazamayo. Here, our protagonist, Mitsu Mao, who clings desperately to life, finds herself lost.

Rumors whisper of a tiered world, with the path back to the living world waiting at the summit. Driven by her desire to return, Mao begins her perilous climb. But Hazamayo is a haven for those who have abandoned hope, each burdened by their own tragic past.

As Mao journeys through this liminal space, she’ll meet these lost souls, forging bonds, uncovering their stories, and perhaps even altering their fates. Their lives will intertwine with hers, shaping her understanding of life, death, and the mysteries of Hazamayo. Will she reach the top? And what awaits her there?
