Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 update adds four playable characters including Sonic, co-op boss battle mode, and more on January 14 [Update]

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2

Sega will release a free update for Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 on January 14 that adds four new playable characters including Sonic the Hedgehog, a “Boss Raid” online mode, and more, the company announced.

In total, the update includes:

  • Four new characters added:
    • Sonic (from Sonic the Hedgehog series)
    • Lidelle
    • Ms. Accord
    • Ocean Prince
  • “Boss Raid” added to online modes. Up to four players can work together to defeat boss characters with Skill Battle rules to earn tons of experience points and powerful Item Cards you can only get here.
  • New Item Cards added.
    • Ring
    • Barrier
    • Spiked Iron Ball
  • Many cute new My Icons added.
  • New background music added:
    • “Tropical Resort – Act 1” (Sonic the Hedgehog series)
    • “Lidelle’s Earnest Wish (Lidelle’s Theme)”
    • “Ms. Accord’s Lesson (Accord’s Theme)”
    • “Dignity of the Prince (Ocean Prince’s Theme)”

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch worldwide. A PC version is due out via Steam in early 2021.
