This Week’s Japanese Game Releases: Super Mario Odyssey, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux, more

Japanese Game Releases

Super Mario Odyssey highlights this week’s Japanese game release lineup. The Switch title, the first sandbox Super Mario game since GameCube’s Super Mario Sunshine, will be available standalone and in a Mario-red Switch hardware bundle.

The 3DS remake of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, titled Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey in Japan, is also launching. It will be available in standard and Shin Megami Tensei 25th Anniversary editions.

Several new titles are launching in the visual novel space. Yahari Game demo Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru. & Zoku Omatome Set, a collection including the two My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU visual novels originally released for PS Vita, is launching for PlayStation 4 in standard and 3D Crystal Set editions. PS Vita is also getting a port of the 2016-released PC otome game Steam Prison. Entergram also has a pair of titles planned with Amaekata wa Kanojo Nari ni. for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, and Tsuki ni Yorisou Otome no Sahou: Hidamari no Hibi for PlayStation 4.
