#7: The Legend of Zelda (Wii U)

The Legend of Zelda

The Legend of Zelda is one of my personal favorite video game series. I’ve been a fan since I was a kid, so each new Zelda announcement always gets me excited. What’s even more interesting about the new Zelda in development for Wii U is how the series is changing. Producer Eiji Aonuma stated that this new Zelda would challenge some of the series conventions, including the addition of an open-world. For a longtime fan, some of that can sound scary, but personally I’m really excited about it. I can’t wait to see more and hopefully play the game pretty soon. The Legend of Zelda for Wii U is planned for launch sometime this year.

Glittering Crux:The Legend of Zelda is one of my favorite franchises, with Wind Waker being my favorite entry in particular. And though Toon Link is my favorite rendition of the Hero of Time, I won’t deny that he is very polarizing. With that in mind, Zelda Wii U seems like a perfect compromise between both parties by starring a more proportional, young-adult Link in beautiful cell-shaded environments that remind me of Wind Waker. It’s been a long time since the first trailer was revealed in 2014, and I cannot wait for the chance to once again visit one of The Legend of Zelda‘s beautiful worlds, with the promise of being more open than ever before.”
