The Gematsu community Games of the Year 2015 vote

Vote, vote, vote, vote!

Gematsu GotYs

Hello, Gematsu community! Community mod-bossguy Zero here.

I’m excited to present our first ever Gematsu community Games of the Year vote. Pekola and I had been discussing this recently, and I decided to ask our community in the Open Forum for some help. Everyone came through and helped make this possible in a very short time. I asked the community to nominate their favorite games of the year, with the choices being across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, PC, 3DS, and PS Vita. From there, we wrote up every single game mentioned and gave each game a point per every mention. This process helped narrow down the nominees to four games across each platform. Given how close the count was for certain games across each category, I decided to not repeat games on multiple platforms. For example, The Witcher 3 and Metal Gear Solid V received a lot of votes on PlayStation 4 and PC.

I’m proud of our community for giving us some great choices. Some lesser known games made the cut and I think that says a lot. I’d also like to take this opportunity to personally thank one of our community members, Evil Ascendant. Evil Ascendant took time out of the holidays to help me double check all the comments and tally up the points for the nominees. Evil, I couldn’t have done this without your help. Thank you!

Okay, so here’s how it all works: just place a vote below for each category! “But wait Zero. Where the heck is the overall Game of the Year vote?!” The idea here is to take the six winners from each category and create a new poll for overall Game of the Year. So vote however you like, but remember to vote for your favorite if you want to see it in the Game of the Year poll.

I’m excited about this and I can’t wait to see how the votes play out. I’m hoping that with the success we’ve had in a limited time this year, we can plan ahead and have more categories to pick from next year.

Well, I think I’ve said more than enough. Time to get to voting! Feel free to post about your selections in the comments below. Have fun!
