Hyrule Warriors update to add three free playable characters

Details on upcoming DLC packs also spilled.

Cia, Volga, and Wizzro are coming to Hyrule Warriors as playable characters, Koei Tecmo announced at the Tokyo Game Show.

The trio of villains are set to be unlocked with an update to the Japanese version of the game that will be available on September 30. That same update will also add a feature that allows players to turn off enemy appearance cutscenes during Adventure Mode.

Additionally, the contents of four upcoming paid DLC packs that are set to arrive for the game in the coming months were also unveiled. These consist of the following:

  • Ura Zelda Musou Pack: October 16, 2014. 1200 yen. Includes one new weapon, a new scenario, an Adventure Map Pack, and two costumes.
  • Twilight Princess Pack: Late November 2014. 1200 yen. Includes one new character, one new weapon, an Adventure Map Pack, and two costumes.
  • Majora’s Mask Pack: January 2015. 1200 yen. Includes two new characters, an Adventure Map Pack, and three costumes.
  • Ganon Pack: February 2015. 500 yen. Includes two new game modes.

All four DLC packs can be pre-ordered at a discount by purchasing the “All-in-One Discount Pack,” which will also be available starting on September 30. Those who do so will immediately unlock a Dark Link costume.

Hyrule Warriors is set for release in North America on September 26 and in Europe and Australia on September 19 and 20, respectively.
