Two familiar faces from Ao and Zero no Kiseki also primed to appear.

Falcom has released new details about the cast of The Legend of Heroes: Sen no Kiseki II and the interactions that players can expect to have with them. Chief among these details is a brief look at the Bonding Event system, as well as character profiles for two characters that previously appeared in Ao and Zero no Kiseki.

As usual, potential unmarked spoilers ahead. Find our translation below.

Gameplay System Showcase: Bonding Events

At certain times throughout Sen no Kiseki II, you can choose to spend “Bonding Action Points” to trigger “Bonding Events,” which enable you spend time with each of the characters and deepen your ties to them. This time around, we’ve really upped the ante in terms of production values for these scenes for each of the characters, which should make things extra enjoyable! What’s more, you can also bond with some characters that were out of your reach in the first game and are now members of your party, such as Tovar, Clair, Sharon, and more!

Let’s take a look at a handful of examples that you can expect to see in the full game below!

When Alisa one day wants Rean to give her a ride inside Valimar, the cockpit gets all sorts of cramped, resulting in her having to sit on Rean’s lap. What comes after that, well…

Jusis one day ends up taking Rean with him to go shopping. Telling Rean that he should be used to providing this sort of help by now, Jusis ends up making him carry more and more things, although he has his reasons for doing so.

Rean takes Millium to the slopes for some snowboarding and rest and relaxation. While there, though, she challenges him to a race, the results of which you’ll just have to see for yourself!

New Characters

Lloyd Bannings (voiced by Tetsuya Kakihara)
Age: 19
Weapon: Tonfas

“Let’s get going. Crossbell’s future isn’t going to realize itself, you know!”

Lloyd is an investigator who works as part of the Crossbell State Police’s Special Support Section. A serious guy with a no-nonsense type of personality, when confronted with violence and injustice, he can’t help but get hotheaded and confront it brazenly. As the leader of the Special Support Section, it’s his job to face down a wide variety of cases that crop up throughout Crossbell and as a result of this work, he and his friends have grown a lot both mentally and physically. In 1205, when Crossbell is threatened with occupation at the hands of the Erebonian Empire, Lloyd takes a stand, but just what he chooses to do remains a mystery as of yet.

Rixia Mao (voiced by Rina Sato)
Age: 18
Weapon: Demon Cleaver

“I have something deeply important to me that I have to protect at all costs!”

A performing artist who works as part of the theater group Arc en Ciel, Rixia is feared by those who live in the easterner settlements, as she has a second side to her, an assassin that goes by the name “Yin.” Born to an assassin family that passes down its teachings to only one member of each generation, she had a hard time finding her way in the world as In until she met people like Iria and Lloyd in Crossbell, at which point she chose to no longer live as Yin, but rather Rixia Mao the artist.
