Development coming along on new SaGa title

"Things are still going slowly," according to series creator.

Fans have been waiting for a new title in the popular SaGa series for quite some time, and according to series creator Akitoshi Kawazu, developing is slowly, but surely coming along.

Speaking to Dengeki Online, Kawazu said, “I haven’t been able to announce a new SaGa game in quite some time, so that’s priority number one for me and I bet that’s what fans are most wanting to hear from me, too. So for the time being, that’s what I’m working on make happen. That being said, while things are still going slowly and have to be taken one step at a time, I can say that development is coming along, so there’s no need to worry.”

The latest console entry in the SaGa series was Unlimited SaGa for PlayStation 2 in 2002. A social game, Emperors SaGa, launched for smartphones in 2012. The SaGa first began in 1989 with Makai Toushi SaGa, which was localized for western audiences as The Final Fantasy Legend.
