Thanks for the tip. I might just start with SR 2 regardless. I got the game for free on PS Plus. I've been looking to buy SR 3 the complete edition for a while now, but I always miss the good deals.

I've only played SR1 and a bit of SR2, but based off what I've seen, it feels like the series began as trying to be this serious, GTA competitor, but then branched off into this wacky, fun kind of thing all its own.

The only SR I played was the third one. From what I understand, the first two games are quite different in tone (less toilet and slapstick humour).

It sounds like they are really going above and beyond with SR IV. The dubstep gun sounds like it will be awesome to play with. The way they are using the super powers is interesting, and the warden sounds like he will be fun to fight.

The mech sounds pretty cool, but I really wish they could have got the Dragon in the game. The idea of a free roam open world, where you can ride a dragon around and create chaos sounds awesome.

I haven't played the previous entries, I'd like to play catch up sometime soon.

Any recommendations? Where should I start? I've been thinking of starting with SR 2.

I haven't played the previous games, but this sounds absolutely batshit crazy -- I like it!

I'm glad to hear they decided to make it as good as possible on current-gen as opposed to ending up with a shoddy next-gen version. Hopefully that's a decision that more devs will have made. A lot of the launch games this gen that had PS2 versions ended up being better on PS2 or seeing negligible differences on the new platforms, so I feel like Volition's got the right idea.
