I personally do not like outsourcing console games from big and proven developers like MM.

I am fine with giving devs reign of the portable versions which are easier beasts to manage

Giving reigns on the console version is a serious business

That said I think most of the tools of LBP are in place and are probably what will just plug in straight to LBP3

I hope this is the right move

Hope it isn’t true. Sumo Digital is a good studio but nowhere as good to develop a main LBP one. I played all 4 LBP titles and LBP 1, 2 still the best, portable versions always lack something.

MM, please don’t let Sumo Digital ruins LBP 3. I beg you….

There is no other developer can make LBP feel like LBP except of MM.

In reply to Kkdog4Sado. LBP Vita is awesome, and LBP PSP was pretty damn good considering the PSP's limitations. I think the only reason MM would need to return to LBP would be to make the transition to 3D.

In reply to Raiu. Double 11 and Tarsier did LBP Vita. From what I understand, Tarsier did the level design and had experience with the art style from all the DLC they've done for LBP before. And Double Eleven did the development of the game itself. Either way, the mixture of the two clearly worked out. LBP Vita is great.

A bit too soon, isnt it. They just released LBPV and LBPK last year and now they want to release another LBP? I’d be ok with this if it were on PS4 but not on PS3.

I personally think it is a terrible decision to outsource LBP. Love SD but MM has produced nothing but top quality for the past 5 years. Also LBP3 needs to be a PS4 title. I hope Sony does not hurt the franchise with these decisions. Salt of course though.

I figured MM didn’t make the LBP2 cross controller DLC. Or did they just do the patch? The wording is odd.

MM doesn’t even do the costumes. They don’t really need to do anything with LBP for it to continue to be good. LBP Vita is evidence of that.

And personally, I’d be totally fine with a LBP3. Hopefully it’s for PS4, because I’m pretty much okay with PS3 LBP. Assuming it’s true anyway.

I think that there really is no need for Little Big Planet 3 =/ they should change LBP into something else now i don’t know.

Hm. Would this be Sumo’s first non sports (or mini-game) title, if true? I’m surprised they didn’t do any work on Little Big Planet Karting with their strong history in the arcade racing genre.
