I suppose. I can’t see this doing significant enough impact to their sales though. As gamers who read gaming media we’re aware of this news, but the vast majority of consumers will never hear about this. A number of the big guys — IGN, Kotaku — haven’t even picked up on this story. I understand your concern, but gaming media is a lot less prevalent than it would need to be to significantly impact the sales of this game.

I’d probably just not buy it, then… I don’t really want to play this sort of game on a console, but I don’t want to play the 3DS version knowing that it’s a downgraded version of what I ~should~ be able to play on my Vita…

I’d buy it on Vita, but I don’t care enough about it on consoles. And after hearing this, I’d much rather “wait and see” what happens then buy it on 3DS. Since the game is basically ‘lesser’ than what was created just to be on 3DS.

So if they want to pull a Capcom, then they can, but they can expect to not sell to quite a few people who would rather play the game as it was meant (on a handheld) but on the handheld they prefer.

And since Konami has been a MUCH better supporter of the Vita than Capcom… yeah, I’ll wait and see.

True, true, but I’m talking from Nintendy’s perspective, this will cause damage to profits for them (though how much remains to be seen). Im thinking this may be cause for legal action from the big N, if the game doesnt reach their “projected” sales. Because remember, each of the hardware giants receive a cut of the profits from games released on their platform, and and Cox may have, even if unintentionally, caused a loss of profits for Nintendo.

I knew Nintendo was using their money to keep 3DS on top with exclusive deals.

I remember reading on some Nintendo fansite that a CV game would be coming to 3DS and Wii U. I dismissed it then, but I suppose it’s possible now if the game also exists in HD.

Then again, they also claimed that LoS2 would come to Wii U, and Konami’s said no such thing. I also can’t see why Ninty would’ve put it in the contract that there couldn’t be a Wii U version if they wanted to do so, so it’ll probably be PS360 if it jumps to consoles at all.

I’d like to see an eShop/PSN/XBLA port for it, so I guess I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

Well, not everybody reads gaming media. So, while those of us who do just heard something he probably shouldn’t have said, the majority of consumers don’t stay this informed.

So perhaps, MoF will lose some sales on 3DS because of this. But then wouldn’t they just be able to cite less sales on 3DS as reason for the port when they do it? This was calculated. The people who don’t buy it on 3DS after hearing this are people who would have been waiting for it to come to another system. They still make money that way. So it’s still to his benefit to say so, though perhaps Ninty might be a bit miffed about it.

First, He talk that Konami will consider to release in others platform and then he talk about their exclusive deal with Nintendo .. Am i missing something here ?

The way i see, this guy PR is bad as Yoichi Wada . Remember Yoichi Wada’s answer when he had been asked about FFVSXIII multiplatform ? After some backlash, he later clarified his original statement by saying on Twitter , guess David Cox will be busy right now doing the same thing

They aren’t broken if the exclusivity expires under the terms of the contract.
