I’m making an exception with this game as I’m loving it more with each new trailer shown (￣▽￣)

My upperclassmen, who’s also a proponent of playing games in their original form (mostly English or Japanese) and who, like yours truly, spends most of his gaming money at amazon.co.uk because of fugly German age rating logos and severe censorship of games, expressed his thoughts on the game and German censorship very concisely: “Das wird das neue Lieblingsspiel der BPJM.”
Basically saying that the highest German censorship institution for games and movies (Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons) will absolutely fall in love with this game ^^

As they utterly annihilated Bulletstorm (all blood, gore and ragdoll effects completely removed), a game that cannot be taken seriously at all due to its OTT comedic violence I dread what they’re gonna demand being cut from MGR. If gamers are fortunate than the game won’t be released at all (as was the case with NGIII: Razor’s Edge), so importing the uncensored version remains the only viable option to gullible German gamers. The next few weeks will be quite entertaining, indeed.

There appears to be some lolwut things with the game (Mariachi, anyone?), but it’s interesting to see a potentially dark contrast (though the monologue was so cheesy, lol).

Man, I’m not good enough to be able to read all of that, but it does say something about Jack The Ripper, Liberia and White Devil. ^^

That’s interesting. Seems that my theory is somewhat correct at the very least. I sorta tried to stop thinking about possible story scenarios. I don’t want to inadvertently spoil the story for myself or others. =P

I figured as much. It’s a little tough to tell in gameplay videos. It appears that Raiden uses the parry a bit differently depending on the opponent.

It is still the parry, except it doesn’t always gives way to a counter attack against strong blows.

It’s parry, I had played the demo and it doesn’t has any block feature. The Producer also said that they didn’t want to add in the block feature into the game cause it slows down the game. And I think he’s right lol.

I can’t remember the last time I heard a protagonist of a game being such a deranged psycho. Raiden is some seriously fucked up mass murderer. I assume this will be a pretty hard-pushed M rating regarding story. Can’t freakin’ wait to unleash my inner sadist.

But boy, do I fear for the German release. It releases within a month and the German version still has not been certified. If there’s two things German youth protection laws hate with a passion (as in: they have to be removed from games/ movies in order to secure an AO (18+) rating as unrated media can only be sold to adults until it gets blacklisted which usually happens within a month of release) it’s glorification of violence and vigilantism. Any game containing said content has to be relieved of it in order to get certified 18+, the highest legally enforceable age rating for games in Germany.

MGR seems to contain plenty of both. the next few weeks shall be quite entertaining. Either the game gets censored into oblivion or it won’t release at all. Gotta love them asinine, ineffective German youth protection laws.
