I played through type-0 without even understanding the language and honestly had the most fun I've ever had with the FF gameplay; it really is that good of a game, and should not be minimized. I can't speak for the rest of it, but man--- dark, cinematic, and very, very creative.

I don’t know why people keep bashing Square Enix. I think fantastic games come outta that place.
