Hatsune Miku is a SEGA character and this is a SEGA game so I doubt licensing issues were a problem with her. :p

Nope. One of the main draws of the game was the insanely star-studded voice selection for the created characters. From Lelouch from Code Geass to Suzumiya Haruhi, the voice cast was insanely awesome. Also Hatsune Miku is an actual character, so licencing issues :/

It’s like DrForbidden said but these companies have to realize that these systems can’t succeed without their help. It reminds me of how reluctant Japan was to move from PS2 to PS3, it was the exact same circumstances. So instead they moved from the PS2 to the PSP.

At the end of the day I’m not saying the game will be bad or not worth it but it would be nice to see companies trying to utilize the newer and stronger system.

Speaking for myself, Sega needs to at least redesign the models with new outfits, etc. and add more characters and classes in addition to the environment and bosses before I’ll consider buying this. 

Knowing Sega, however, that’s  pretty slim chance. Akiyama Shun has been wearing the same suit for 3 years now despite being incredibly wealthy (or at least being so talented that he can make billions in a matter of months). 0_o

I don’t consider it an issue, lol. I have both systems. But I think it’s clear more profit for SEGA will be on the PSP and they need that profit.

They can reuse assets all they like, It’s not uncommon and the first game was great with the adorable models. If it’s that and includes more of them- I’ll be a happy camper as sure many others will be. That’s just my take on it though.

Well, yes, it’s safer for Sega, but it’s not good news for Sony. While downloaded PSP titles will work for the Vita, there’s still plenty of lost sales for the physical copies. I think the issue here isn’t that Sega wants to play safe, but that they want to re-use assets from 7th Dragon 2020. Minimal work for maximal payoff.

I’ll wait for more information before commiting to this game. If it’s just going to be the same character models and classes with a couple of new environments and dragons, it may not be worth the asking price even if the story is new.

I don’t think it’s a problem with moving on. You have to remember that the Vita install base is low in Japan, and the developers probably don’t want to take risks. The psp is cheaper to develop on, too. I think we’ll need a big title like Final Fantasy or Monster Hunter if we want to see more Vita games, sadly.

Safer to release on a well-established platform.
