Shin Megami Tensei: Persona, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2: Innocent Sin, &Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2: Eternal Punishment was release for PSP.

Persona 4 Golden is releasing next month on PS Vita. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES has already released on the PSN for PS2 classics.

I think its pretty obvious that Persona 5 is PS3 bound or PS Vita bound or maybe even both to use the cross platform capabilities. In my opinion I don’t see Persona 5 being on the Xbox 360 since its mostly for shooters and Nintendo has never seen a Persona game.

 I don’t want the game on any console. To be honest, I really haven’t even give that much thought. I want to play the game that’s for sure, and as such I’d love if this game was released in any of the consoles I currently own/will own soon, like the Ps3, the 3DS and the Vita (I’m ruling out the PS2 and PSP for obvious reasons, lol).

I was just wondering how you were so certain this would be released on the PS3, as an exclusive. You posted your reasons, and even though I do not agree with them, I respect them. I don’t think any of us was disrespectful to you in the process now. And if I was, I apologize for that, as it was not intentional.

My post was supposed to give you an outside look at things, which can be pretty helpful in discussions imo.

I said this before, I’ll say it again as clearly as possible. 

No one is arguing with you, they might disagree with something you post, but that doesn’t mean someone is arguing. Especially when it comes down to a hypothetical discussion like this one. No one has the sure thing answer here, because that information has not been officially announced.

People are discussing the topic, trying to share opinions, but you are getting upset and offended for no reason at all, taking things way too far.

You seem to believe that Gematsu is full of people who are against you or something, that everyone is a fanboy to this or that, and that you are fighting some imaginary bs war or something against them.

I tried to tell you kindly that you tend to post things like whatever you say is fact, or whatever you say is the law, it gives others the impression that you have an holier than thou attitude, or in other words, that you seem to think you are hot stuff.

And like I said above, this is why people respond to you with sarcasm  and this is also why some people like to post troll responses to comments you make. Also, for the record, we ban or remove those posts when we see them. (This is something Faithless and I have stressed over and over again.)

You know why I sound annoyed with all of this? This is so not the first time I’ve tried to explain this to you, this is not the first time this has happened, it just starts to get old.

No one has any real issue with you besides this, for the most part, people agree with your opinions if you haven’t noticed, I even said I mostly agree with you on this topic above.

That’s not exactly how I think about it but I respect your opinion in this case. If that was the case, even the Final Fantasy series would still be exclusive to Nintendo’s consoles. But you’re happy it’s found its way to the others, right? I just woke up but I’m fairly sure there are another series that have found their way to multiple consoles but sadly none comes to mind at this moment.

And if it goes multiplat I will respect their choice.

No, I will take it personal because for the past few weeks every time I post a comment people keep responding to me and want to turn it into a argument and no I will not ignore them because I comment first and they replied and I’m going to reply back but you know what I’m done with talking on this article and trying to prove my point. I feel like you are trying to read between the lines here, to make something out of nothing. Just because someone doesn’t agree, or share the same views as you, doesn’t mean they are attacking you.

If someone thinks a game is going to go multi-platform, they have the right to express that opinion. If you don’t agree, feel free to respond to them with why.

When people don’t agree with you, stop taking it so personal. That was my point.

That’s fine then, I was wrong. But i’d be of course disappointed since that means my friend who’s a bigtime Persona fan would have to spend 250+ to play the next iteration. But that’s a personal thing. I’d be okay with it since I get to play it and if ATLUS feels that is profitable then it is, right?

So what are you going say IF and only IF they announce it exclusive to the PlayStation Brand for PS3 or PS Vita. If it goes multiplat I will accept it going multiplat but I truly believe it will be exclusive to the PlayStation Brand.   

That’s not what I’m saying here. I wanted to first point out that P4Arena is not a spin-off. Maybe in the sense that for this story they tried a different genre, but that’s a whole nother topic.

I’m trying to say since track record matters a lot in which direction a company is going, it shows that Persona 5 will likely be multiplatform. This isn’t fact- but there’s a lot of truth to it. Brand loyalty is not as significant imo to track record. And that is more prominent when it is secluded to which generation it is in. In this case, a Persona game has already been a multiplatform game. They have already started to reach out an exterior audience and I don’t think they did it just because it was a spin-off. 360 may be dead in Japan, but the Arena game over all has been extremely profitable for them. Then there’s Catherine which started their first foray into the HD and Multiplatform environment. That is why I think Persona 5 will be multiplatform.

Its a matter that I believe what started exclusive to a brand should stay exclusive to a brand & Whats announced exclusive for a brand should release exclusive for that brand.

So a arcade fighting automatically to you means Persona 5 is going multiplat. WOW!!! -_-

If you can’t respect my opinion than that is not fair. I don’t understand why when I say Persona 5 is most likely going to be a PS3 exclusive I have about 5 – 7 people attacking me but yet when other people put their opinions in the comment section, like if someone says Persona 5 is going to be multiplat you guys say nothing to them about the possibilities of it being exclusive to PlayStation since all the main numbered story Persona’s are exclusive to PlayStation (not counting the arcade fighting game). I think you are kinda taking this a bit too seriously. All anyone who has responded to you is trying it point out, is that exclusives are kinda a dying breed these days.

Unless the exclusive is being developed by a first party studio, or being developed for one hardware (Like portable games tend to be), chances are high that it will become a Multi-Platform title.

Sure, In Japan or other places outside of the west, things are a bit different. The thing is, games tend to go multi-platform when they come to the west. This has become the norm this generation. I accepted this a long time ago, I learned to not let it bother me.

If you acknowledge that much, I think it’s easy to see why others are skeptical, and are simply questioning what you said above was “logic.” I think you made it more clear in the following responses, that all of this was just your opinion. I’m not sure if it’s intended, but sometimes you post comments that suggest your opinion is fact, and that if someone else doesn’t quite agree, they are simply wrong. Like I said, you might not realize that, but that’s how many comments you make here read to others. So, yeah, if people respond to something like that with a bit of sarcasm, can you blame them?

For the record, you are probably correct. The thing is, I see no harm in discussing the scenario of the game going multi-platform. What’s the harm in that?

As for fanboy stuff or whatever, you know that we frown upon those types of comments here on Gematsu. We have always considered comments like that to be very immature.

I do my best to come in and moderate or remove comments like that, but only when I have no other choice. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I don’t enjoy coming into an article and editing a ton of comments, or posting warning or whatever. I like to see users work things out when possible. (In an adult manner.)

Things have improved recently in my opinion, and you don’t see the Mod’s intervening much because of this. We did miss some trollish comments in that one Monster Hunter article, but I acted once I was made aware of it.

All I’m saying is, just because someone doesn’t agree, that doesn’t mean they become the enemy or something like that.

Why do trolls or whatever you want to call them respond to posts you make? This is just an observation from reading the comments, but I think what happened here (Quick to get riled up) is a good example. Trolls or someone who is trolling – they want to get you upset or angry, and when you respond that way they succeed. The best thing you can do is to not take the comment seriously, and just flag it. (The old saying is – Don’t feed the trolls.)

Like I said above, I don’t think anyone here was trying to pick a fight or anything like that with you, they simply wanted to discuss the possibility of P5 going multi-platform.

You don’t have to agree with my post, this is just my opinion on the discussion here. I’m a Sony fan myself, I’ve expressed this multiple times. I game mostly on the PS3, and have been a Playstation gamer for years.

With that said, I also own the other consoles, and I game on them and my PC. I still prefer the PS3 with my DS3 for gaming, but I don’t mind stepping outside of that comfort zone. I remember when I was much younger, I would argue with other kids at school about which console was better, the PS1 or the N64.

The funny thing is, when I stopped to really think about it, those arguments were just silly. I was just taking all of it way too serious, making it way too personal. I don’t think the other kids really even cared that much, and some of them just liked to see me get upset. Yes, these are pretty much examples of real life trolls.

I’ve learned to approach a conversation or discussion with a very open mind. If someone seems to be just trolling or whatever, ignore them or stop, doing so is simply removing them from the equation from the start.

And whether it is a spin-off or a new IP, I’m sorry but brand loyalty does not matter when 2 HD titles have been multiplatform.
