Sal: you may want to rescind the ‘not on Steam’ comment. I don’t think this is just confirmed or not.

According to people looking into the updates for Steam, a Final Fantasy release IS in fact listed on there for the game ids or something for a store update.

I think it is VERY likely we will see a Steam release.

SquareEnix is too daft to offer cloud saves on their own frankly, and achievements.

Those two features would not be present without Steam.

As of now, count on the Steam release announcement coming soon.

I was really hyped for a Steam release. I have very little faith in Square Enix as of late, so I’m fearful to see what kind of DRM this release will have. Hopefully they’ve included controller configuration and hopefully they’ll continue to support this cloud service in the long term.

There already is a PC version, fyi for everyone. Same for FF VIII.

And I wouldn’t hold my breath for a vastly updated game just yet. But it would be nice to at least have a more compatible game, unlike SEGA’s Dreamcast Collection garbage.
