Mario Kart 7 update stops cheaters in their tracks

Removes shortcuts from three levels.

An update for Mario Kart 7 on Nintendo 3DS has landed today, eliminating the ability to take shortcuts on three of the game’s tracks.

Available on Wuhu Island Loop, Wuhu Mountain Loop and GBA Bowser Castle 1, the exploits allowed players to skip significant portions of a track – with some bypassing up to half a level.

To install the update from the Nintendo eShop, players need the latest 3DS system update. Without the patch, players will not be able to play online.

Offline modes are still accessible without the download.
