Yeah, we’re on the same page there, this wait is ridiculous beyond belief. More so than Half Life 3 or Duke Nukem Forever were, because we know for sure SE is working on the game, they just refuse to show us anything concrete from it.

The best thing to do is to try and not get your head around it. I really, honestly believe that if the internet stops caring, they’ll realize they need to actually get it out so not to let more fans stop caring about it. At this point, the hype is so high, the game needs to be the best thing ever to meet expectations.

All in all, SE is shooting their own feet when it comes to this game.

I understand it not his call and I agree it is square enix fault but the thing is the wait is u not called for either square needs to fucking come to the realization they need to release this game or just cancel so people like me can quite raging and move on.

Look, I want Versus as well, but it’s not Nomura’s call. It’s SE who’s holding the game down, not him. His powers over the game’s actual public showings are limited. He’s told by SE to do this or that, and he does it coz they’re paying him for his work.

He possibly has some degree of freedom, knowing how much he accomplished already on SE, but again, he doesn’t get to say when the game is going to be released, he only gets to tell their bosses the game is ready and then it’s not up to him. So if the SE guys tell him to work on more stuff meanwhile, he’ll do it, coz he doesn’t want to loose his job :P So if you want to be mad at someone, be mad at SE. Nomura’s just doing his job, he’s paid to think of and direct new games, so :P

No he always does this, he says we will show versus soon then he starts to focus on other projects. I’ve waited for this game 6 years that too damn long. The only reason square enix won’t let him show it because they care too much about 360 and making there games appeal to the western market for money. Thats why Nomura wants to create this game massive but can only do it on PS3 due to 360 limitations. I’ll keep waiting no matter what because I know this game can’t fail. I got a feeling he will show Versus XIII at E3.

It’s most definitely not Nomura’s call (on the subject of Versus not being released or even being shown). Nomura is the creative designer behind Versus XIII, but SE is the company funding the project, and signing Nomura’s paychecks. As such, it’s always SE who has the final word on when the game is ready to be shown, and how will it be shown, etc. Ofc, being a creative designer, he should have a say on all of this, but ultimately, he’s tied to SE and until SE greenlits the game, there’s not much he can do.

So yeah, people should stop caring about Versus and focusing on the other nice games out there, or even Nomura projects. Versus will come when it comes, I stopped caring about it, and I’m sure that if everyone did the same SE would realize that they need to properly advertise their games instead of treating this game like it doesn’t even exist.

No your not understanding if he is focusing on Versus XIII and other projects it seems like he puts more time in to the other projects than Versus XIII.

This is about a possible The World Ends With You sequel, not Versus. He was speaking with Nintendo for heavens sake.

And the idea that Nomura-san is purposely delaying Versus is absurd! Or… that he isn’t working hard enough, or that he hasn’t in the past. All pretty ridiculous.

Understanding a small bit about how a game is made, and how the process works goes a long way…
