Tokyo Game Show 2011 sets new record, 2012 show dated

A record 222,668 attend the Japanese game event.

Last year’s Tokyo Game Show set an attendance record of 207,647. This year’s show broke the record once more, seeing a total of 222,668 attend within the show’s four-day span.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • September 15 (Press Day) – 25,631 (2010: 26,764, 2009: 27,435)
  • September 16 (Press Day) – 27,042 (2010: 24,229, 2009: 24,605)
  • September 17 (Public Day) – 86,251 (2010: 81,469, 2009: 61,138)
  • September 18 (Public Day) – 83,744 (2010: 77,185, 2009: 71,852)

Next year’s Tokyo Game Show will be held from September 20 through September 23 at the usual Makuhari Messe convention center in the Mihama-ku ward of Chiba city.
