Japanese games being 'Japanese' in direction is part of what makes them so good. Many Japanese games are colorful, artistic and emotional, with well made characters and solid gameplay. And the "Japanese" part only adds to that - look at the Yakuza series for example.

East and West have their own identities and should definately stay that way. I love games from all countries and nations, and see no point in them all being conglomerated.

I've always been a big fan of japanese games, especially jrpg's. They were always ambitious, magical, well thought-over. Western rpg's were more about "dungeons, dragons, heros with axes and slaying dragons". Fun as well. But i always were more attracted by japanese work.
