I don't think BC is anywhere near on PS3. Not in the TGS at least. And that's really a bad news.for all PS2 game lovers. But I guess, BC is in store for sure, because Sony can't ignore a library of over 1800 titles just like that. It's just that it wants to keep up with it's word of PS2 completing 10 year life-cycle. PS2 was here in 2001, so let's wait till 2011 and hope for the reunion of the legendary playstation with the ultimate one.

Yeah I agree, the slim sure came quick.
I'd love to see BC on the PS3 aswell so I could play my FFX, X-2 and XII in 1080p cause my PS2 on a HD TV looks like garbage. I'm very happy with the way FFVII looks from the Playstation Store upscaled.
Lets hope in the future PS2 BC will come to us.

I don't really blame Sony for doing this but. On the one hand they have the PS2 that was quite possibly the most successful home console in history but they also want the PS3 to stand on its own legs and make its mark in console history.

Having said that, it seems like an easy move to get PS2 games onto the PS3 through a firmware upgrade but one would like to think that they're doing this for financial reasons. To say nothing of the fact that the PS2 is STILL selling like hotcakes makes you wonder why they don't spread some of that PS2 love around.

Oh well, I'm just glad Sony is back in the news for a change and that (for the most part) all the news is good. New system, new low price and a swank new firmware upgrade. Hard to believe it'll all be here in 13 days.
