Bad news from the Take-Two headquarters. BioShock 2, the underwater sequel originally planned to release on November 3, 2009, has been delayed.
The game has been delayed to a very vague “fiscal year 2010” and can even be pushed to calendar 2010 and end up missing the holidays, and year, completely.
Take-Two says that the delay is due to “provide additional development time for the title.”
“The decision to shift a release date is never an easy one, especially with a product as highly anticipated as BioShock 2,” Take-Two CEO Ben Feder said in a financial release. “We felt that it was essential to invest the additional time to ensure that this title will deliver what its fans expect and deserve.”
This is officially the third in Take-Two’s big game delay announcements this year. The first two being Mafia II and Red Dead Redemption, also scheduled for fiscal 2010.
