Comments on: E3 ’09: Square Enix ‘considering all hardware possibilities’ for Final Fantasy XIV

I’m not a fanboy or anything (I actually own an Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, PSP, the whole nine yards), but I’d really rather prefer this stays on PlayStation 3 and PC only. Look at FF13, they’re making an Xbox 360 version which only delayed the game’s release and probably took more time out of the PlayStation 3 version.

If they make an Xbox 360 version of this, they’ll just have too much to focus on. On top of that Final Fantasy doesn’t feel RIGHT on Xbox 360 just as a game like Gears of War wouldn’t feel RIGHT on PS3.

The problem with that is that MS probably wouldnt allow it.

Regardless, I will be selfish and say that the 360 hopefully doesnt get it. :)

Well, according to Jack Tretton yesterday this version of FF is PS3 only. I doubt that he’d really play that up if the exclusivity of the title was timed. Again, he used the word “ONLY” when describing FFXIV.

However, if SE did release the game on all consoles it would be the very first MMO that would allow competing game system owners to compete. And just because it’s never been done before doesn’t mean that SE won’t be the first company to try it.
